INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY COUNSELING
Elizabeth provides individual and family counseling for teens and adults. Specialization areas include self worth, depression, anxiety, grief, LGBTQ exploration, trauma, and women's issues. Elizabeth offers family therapy for families of all ages who would like to work on changing family dynamics, communication, and connections.
PLAY THERAPY
Solution-focused play therapy is a developmentally appropriate and strengths-based approach to working with children. Elizabeth uses toys, expressive art, music, and therapeutic activities to promote healing and growth. Through play, children can learn to express emotions, enhance social skills, and build self-efficacy. Elizabeth offers play therapy for children ages 3 to 9.
COUPLES COUNSELING
Couples counseling can help partners work through relational, sexual, and communication challenges. Elizabeth will help couples identify challenges in their relationship and develop possible solutions.
ANIMAL-ASSISTED COUNSELING
Animal-assisted counseling (AAC) is a goal-directed process in which a trained mental health practitioner and animal partner work together to help clients resolve mental health challenges using the therapeutic powers of human-animal interaction. Elizabeth and her animal partner, Holly, offer AAC services to children, teens, adults, and couples.
RATES
Dr. Hartwig's fee is $150 for a 50-minute counseling session or 45-minute play therapy session. She bills for sessions using a HIPAA-compliant credit card processing software for therapists.
Dr. Hartwig is not an in-network provider for any insurance company and does not bill insurance. If you would like to work with a provider who accepts and bills for insurance, you can look up "Behavioral Health Providers" on your health insurance company website.
Most clients see their therapist once a week at a regularly scheduled time. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with Dr. Hartwig, please complete the appointment request form!
CLINICAL SUPERVISION
Dr. Hartwig provides supervision for practitioners working toward becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Her goal is to offer guidance and support that is designed to enhance a supervisee's clinical and professional knowledge, attitudes, and skills in order to develop and achieve competency in counselor identity and clinical care. She utilizes sandtray, expressive arts, case consultation, and even canine-assisted support as part of the supervision process.
